People think I hate Dair because I am a bitter Chair shipper. Well that’s not exactly the case…

Yes, Dan Dumphrey annoys the fuck outta me (and most times I wish that the season would end with him being shot!)… But in all honesty, I can say that my hate comes down to the poorly written storylines! 

The Dair relationship, to me, feels like it was thrown together, suddenly and out of the blue, with NO build up. I get that somewhere towards the end of season four, Dan “fell in love” with Blair…but somehow I find this storyline a joke!

I mean, he hadn’t even resolved his feelings with Serena! He fucked Vanessa over yet again in the beginning of the season, because he wanted to get back with Serena and he was jealous that Nate was making a move… THEN one day after working together with Blair at W and trying to bring down Juliet and Damien- he SUDDENLY falls MORE in love with Blair than he EVER did with Serena???? All this talk about Blair being his soulmate is just a mockery to the show and to the author’s work!!!

What happened to OBSESSED Dan in season one, who couldn’t even talk to his dream girl? What happened to the Dan that hated Blair? Who hated the UES, the people and everything in their world? Dan who thought Blair was evil and could never understand why Serena was best friends with her? 

The writers have changed the show’s dynamics too much. Gossip Girl was always about:

• The UES vs Brooklyn…
• The Rich vs. the poor…
• The Privileged vs. the less fortunate.

I’m not saying that Dan and Blair falling in love is NOT believable- just the way that they have done it is! If they were thinking of exploring Dair…why not just take the time and do it properly? The storyline revolving them seems so rushed and fake, that its not even the slightest bit believable! Obviously they were thinking of Dair by mid season four, so why not build it up???

As much as I hate to see Blair with anyone other than Chuck; if the storylines are well scripted and believable… it is at least tolerable!

Last episode, Blair reads Dan’s book and realises that she has feelings for him too? REALLY? HOW ORIGINAL ARE THESE WRITERS??!!!

I barely get my head around Dan’s sudden feelings for B and now the writers are working the same angle for Blair? Why couldn’t she come to her own understanding that she liked Dan without him influencing her? Blair does not need another guy in the mix at the moment…she already has her dickhead husband and Chuck. Anything Dumphrey says or does, will only sway her into thinking that he is a genuine guy… he is making her question herself…making her think that she should try a relationship with him, since she cannot be with the man she loves!!! Am I the only one that thinks she is settling for Dan, because she thinks she can’t be with Chuck??? 

Look, the truth is. I would have rather a NAIR reunion than a Dair storyline. At least that way, it would not only be a more believable storyline; but also more interesting to see how Chuck would take his best friend competing for his ex girlfriend. Chuck and Nate going at it again could have been a really fun thing to play out….Would we see their friendship breakdown? Nate had Blair fist but Chuck obviously loved her much more! Would Blair want to rekindle things with her first love? How would Serena feel about that? There was history there for Nair, so it would have been more appealing to watch Blair torn between the Prince (the fairytale), Nate (her first love) and Chuck (her true love) !!! The 100th episode could have been a pivotal point in the Nair reunion where Nate confesses his love for her and how he always imagined them getting married! I don’t know..I guess I will always love a little Nair on the side but ALWAYS ship CHAIR <3 One time is for sure….I WILL NEVER SHIP/SUPPORT DAIR/BAN!

And if the ratings are anything to go by (since MOST Chair fans boycotted the episode this week) then nobody really wants BAN and if the writers don’t fix up Chair, their ratings will continue to deplete!

When they say:

• I ship Dair NOT Chair…

• Dair: five years in the making….

• Dair is ENDGAME….

• Dan is Blair’s soulmate not Chuck….

• Dan has ALWAYS loved Blair …. (so Serena meant nothing to him in season one, two, three and beginning of four when he was OBSESSED about her??) 

• Dan treats Blair better than Chuck does…

• Blair and Dan have better chemistry….

Bitch please, CHAIR IS ENDGAME…
